His artistic development : chronology

WILSON TIBERIO, BORN IN PORTO ALEGRE (BRAZIL) IN 1920 

1942                Completes Art school - Highest level of distinction of Fine Art Exhibition in Rio de Janeiro.               
1945                First painting exhibition at the Ministry of Education in Rio de Janeiro.                           
1946                Second exhibition at the Press Association Show in Rio.               
1947                Third exhibition at Quintandhinha hotel in Rio de Janeiro. These three exhibitions take as their  subject the life of  black people in Brazil.                                             
                October : grant of the French government to study  murals  in Paris.                 
                In Paris, continued to attend ethnology and anthropology lectures at Musée de l'Homme. Contacts with  great painters : Picasso, Chapelin Midi, Chapiro, Borsi, and so on               
                First exhibition in Paris at Galerie « Arc en Ciel » with Brazilian themes.                                             
                Grant of the Musée de l'Homme for an African studies journey. Contacts in Western and Equatorial  Africa with striking population against French colonialism. Completion of a series of paintings on poverty  and struggles of African people.                       
1948                January : deportation from Africa by French government order for political motivations.               
1951                Paris : Picasso's anti-Franco exhibition at  Galerie H. Tronche.               
1952                Nice : exhibition  Galerie Pedroni Lombard.               
1953                Participation in the Biennial event of Menton.                 
1954                Exhibition in Nice : Galerie Muratore.               
                Exhibition at Galerie « Quatre-Vents » in Paris.               
                Exhibition in Paris : Galerie Paul Mary Avenue Mozart. Acquisition by the City of  Paris and for individual collections.               
1956                Paris : Participation at the Congress of the Black Artists and Writers at la Sorbonne.               
1957                July : exhibition at  Galerie Marcel Bernheim.               
1958                Exhibition in Moscow. Several paintings acquired in Moscow.                                             
                Exhibition at the House of the writers and the artists in Peking (Beijing).               
1961                Exhibition in Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Hall of  Information of the City hall.                                             
                Exhibition in Niamey (Niger), Palace of the Presidency.               
1962                Exhibition in Treichville (Ivory Coast)                             
1966                Participation at Festival of Negro Arts in Dakar (Senegal).               
1970                Exhibition in Dakar : Daniel Sorano theatre.               
1973                Exhibition in Paris               
                Exhibition in Rome : Paesi Nuovi.               
1979                Exhibition in Abdijan : Galerie Mitkal.               
1986                Exhibition in Siena (Italy) : Hôtel Continental.
